This year Olympic was something special for we Indians. We had so many wow moments. All the medals claimed so far are by women and we are extremely proud of that.

Initially the early exit of big names disappointed us but It was the Dipa Karmakar who brought the hope back and qualified for the final 10 in Women’s Vault. She didnt manage to bring any medal but nevertheless she became the first Indian female gymnast ever to compete in the Olympics and uplifted the spirits of other Indian player and nation.

It was then the turn of another Indian girl Sakshi Malik, freestyle wrestler, to bring the first medal home. This was little extra special because the medal was won on 17th August, the day India celebrated traditional festival Rakshabandha. This festival is special dedicated to sisters and brothers. On this day sisters tie a rakhi (sacred thread) on her brother’s wrist. And this girl tied a medal to the nation in freestyle wrestler.

Later one more young girl P. V. Sindhu claimed another medal for India and this time it was SILVER!!. She became the first Indian to reach in Badminton final in Olympic. She lost in final and lost the gold but undoubtedly she won heart of millions, including mine.

We wish all the very best for their career and remaining player a good luck. We hope to get few more medals and will not be surprised if they come from any other girl!!
